Design Team Faves:

Kristine created a beautiful sympathy card using dies from our Flowers & More release as another of her faves from 2023. There is a complete tutorial on this post
Kristine also selected this envelope box card as a fave using dies from the Easter release. The bold and bright colors made it so perfect for Springtime. See this post for a complete tutorial.
Pam chose this tulip card as another of her faves from 2023. It's a perfect way to send a bouquet of beautiful paper flowers. See her tutorial here
Marla chose this beautiful Folk Art Rooster card as another of her faves from 2023. Distress inks and white gouache really captured the folk-art style in such a unique way.
Melinda chose this shadow box home decor item as another of her faves from 2023. You can see more of how she created this on her Blog post here.

I (Mary Marsh) chose this pop-up fun fold birthday card as another of my faves from 2023. You can see the complete tutorial on this post. There is also a video on the post that shows it opening and closing.

That's it for today's post. I hope you have enjoyed watching down memory lane with us for the past 2 days.

Other News: This is my last post as a member of the CottageCutz Design Team. It's been nearly 8 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time designing for this incredible company. But in 2024 I will be getting more involved in the political realm in my community and that will take a good amount of my time. So, farewell my friends. It's been a wonderful ride!

Fall Designs Group Post (Day 1)

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. This post is featuring cards using the new Fall Release. There are 15 designs in this release and are available in the online store with special pricing.

The designs are so perfect for all your Fall projects- birthday, Thanksgiving, thinking of you, encouragement and home decor just to name a few.  They allow you to add a beautiful touch of Fall to whatever you may be creating.

We have had a good response when we do a group post on a new release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. There are 3 samples in today's post and on Friday we will have another 3 samples.

Now onto our samples for today.

Card 1: Our first sample today is from Marla Harris. She is featuring the Harvest FoliageFall Branch w/Swing and Autumn Friends dies.
She took a step away from the traditional fall colors and created a vibrant card ready to brighten someone's day.
The jewel toned leaves make a great frame for her bird on the swing. It's an ink smooshing technique.  The embossed background was inked before she ran it through her machine. You can see the process video on her YouTube channel - here.

Card 2: Our next sample today is from Pam MacKay. Her card is featuring the Harvest Pumpkins and Fall Barrel dies in a larger format - 6 1/4" x 4 1/4".
Her idyllic scene is so reminiscent of many yards across the land. It calls to mind images of cooling weather, golden sunlight, and fields of pumpkins ready to be picked before the frost arrives.

Card 3: Our 3rd and last sample today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the Fall Scarecrow die.  I just couldn't resist the happy expression on his sweet little face. It doesn't seem like he could scare the birds away.
I stenciled some clouds using prize ribbon distress ink and added some grass with peeled paint distress ink. The sun is from the Stitched Clouds, Sun & Umbrella die.
I thought it would be a great Thanksgiving card to send to friends who have young boys.

That's it for our samples for today. Stop back again on Friday for Day 2 of the Fall Release to check out what the other designers have created.

Group Post Featuring Folk Art Release

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. This post is featuring cards using the new Folk Art release. There are 19 new designs in this release and are so perfect for cardmaking, journaling, and scrapbooking. They allow you to add a beautiful touch of folk art to whatever you may be creating.

We have had a good response when we do a group post on a new release. It gives you the opportunity to see more card samples from the Design Team. There are 3 samples in today's post and tomorrow we will have another 3 samples.

Also just released is our Patriotic 4th of July release with 12 amazing patriotic designs and bundle pricing at 40% off. If you love making patriotic cards to honor a veteran, to celebrate the 4th of July or to display your love for America, we have you covered with this new release. The DT will begin showing samples starting Monday and continue for the month of June.

Now onto our Folk Art Samples for today.

Card 1: Our first sample today is from Pam Mackay. She created a beautiful slimline card (8 1/2" x 3 1/2") to send to a friend that she hasn't talked to in a while. Her card is featuring the new Folk Art Cat, Folk Art Rabbit and Folk Art Flowers dies.

She placed her images on black cardstock and then onto a pink layering panel. These colors really make the images pop. I like how she circled the images with hearts and stems and then her middle panel is more flowers. She has really captured the essence of folk-art design with this card. Her friend will love it and, it's a great way of reconnecting.

Card 2: Our next sample today is from Melinda Beltran. She used the Folk Art Hen die and the Folk Art Egg die to create this beauty. The colors she used on the hen and egg give it a vintage flair.

Her background designer paper has a rustic look and framed with the Scalloped Rectangle die helps completes the vintage style. The punny sentiment certainly will produce a smile for the recipient and is a perfect ending for her card.  It will be a great pick-me-up card for someone who need a little cheering.
Card 3:  Our last sample for today is one that I (Mary Marsh) created using the Folk Art Heart die.  I used the colors from this week's color challenge #951 on Splitcoaststampers.
We were to use berry burst, lemon lolly and shaded spruce for our color trio.

I made this card for my good friend who is dealing with a "C" diagnosis on her hubby. I want to let her know that I am supporting both of them.

I embossed the card base with a floral embossing folder for added interest since this card is a bit more on the clean and simple side. The heart is cut in the required challenge colors. I stamped my sentiment in berry burst ink on lemon lolly cardstock. Added a few sequins to finish off the card.

That's it for our samples for today. Stop back again on Saturday to check out what the other designers have created.

Group Post Black Friday Release Dies (Day 3)

Hello CottageCutz friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit with us today. It's Black Friday release week here on the Blog.

We have a new Classic 50's release that makes its debut here on the Blog and also in the online store. You can pick up the bundle for a huge 65% off. That's under $97 or 30% off individual dies. The release is filled with some amazing retro images from the 50's era.

We will have group posts for the next several days to give you lots of inspiration on different ways to use the dies. If you missed our first 2 posts, you could see them here, and here.

Card 1: Our first card for today is from Kristine Breach.  She created a fun easel card and used some great colors on the card. It would fit a variety of occasions. Maybe a 50th birthday, or someone who is an avid motorcycler, or even someone who loves the 50's era. This would really make a cute card for a 50th wedding anniversary. We all know playful couples who like to have fun.

Kris used the MotorcycleCinema Drive-in Sign for the card front. This is the front view of the easel card. She used the Fifties Phrases #2 die on a popped-up panel to act as the stopper for the easel when it's opened.
And of course, the card folds flat for mailing and fits in a standard envelope.
Card 2:  Our next sample for today is from Pam MacKay. She created an A2 size card and cut the front panel in half and attached her image.

It's a quick "half-front" card fold for when you want to do something special but don't have time for a lot of scoring or special tools. All you do is cut half of the front cover off.

It's a fun style card. This one is for a birthday, but you could use it for Father's Day as well.

She used the Classic Car (Front) and cut in black cardstock to make it pop. The phrase is part of the Fifties Phrases #2 die. Also cut in black cardstock for a standout. The car designer paper complements the theme of the card.
Card 3:
Our last sample for today is from Linh Van. She created a full-front or infinity shaker card. If you like shaker cards and don't like to use foam or struggle with lining it up this style shaker is for you. And shaker cards present such a wow factor. Adults and kids love this style card. You just place acetate across the front of the card.

Linh used the Fifties Jukebox die and the Fifties Phrases #1 with lots of purple glitter paper for a bright and festive birthday look. The phrase "Bday" is from the 2018 Retro Alphabet die that is currently on sale for 75% off.

You can check out her YouTube channel for a video on how she created this card. Click here.
Well, that's our samples for today. Stop by again tomorrow for more inspiration from the team. And don't forget that we are having a huge Black Friday sale going on with savings of up to 85% off.
